The Pack

When we moved into Mill Creek in the fall of 2016 the house had been empty for months and was full of tiny, cute but gotta’ go field mice.  These mice were also in our cars, sheds and everywhere else it seemed!  We tried traps, exterminators and hi-frequency noise without luck.  One night while discussing our losing battle at the bar at our favorite pub, we heard a local say ‘ya’ all need a cat’.

An internet search turned up Momma – a stray found pregnant a couple of hours south.  She was described as a sweet outside cat and she looked like she would get the job done.  We learned that all but one of her kittens had been adopted and older, stray cats were often hard to place.  We adopted both and hoped that this would solve our mouse situation, that our dog would be ok, that the cats would be healthy, friendly and that this was an all around good idea.

One year later, we have no mice, a kitten who has grown up thinking he is a dog, reliable early morning wake ups and a fun pack family.  Pardon the cliche… “who saved whom?”
